Cooks beach
Cooks Beach is a great
place to take the family. It
has a wide range of
activities just one easy boat
ride away and so much to
do within walking distance.
There is a dairy with
essential food and supplies.
There is a fish and chip
shop, a restaurant and
some other small shops.
There are cafes to walk or
drive to. There are walks
over to Lonely Bay and over
to the top of a cave. At the
top of the cave you can then
jump down the cave and
into the water. Lonely bay is
a small beach next to cooks
beach and it’s a short walk
over a hill at one end of the
beach. One little reminder is
that if you decide to eat
collected shellfish check out
some websites to make
Sure they are safe to eat.

A place to stay
There are lots of batches to rent but make sure you get in quick because they book up fast. There is also a resort to stay at. Here is the website link. http://www.cooksbeachresort.co.nz/

Estuary
The estuary is at the other end of the beach and is a great place to swim or drive your boat. If you swim across the estuary there is a massive rope swing into the water.
Collecting shellfish around the estuary area may be a risk as the shellfish may be toxic.
There is a strong current at some parts of the day so be sure to get your timing right. Mr Whippie comes down to the estuary sometimes around dinner time.

The place to be this summer
Cooks beach is the place to be this summer or the next. The sea is great for boogie boarding and swimming. There is lots of sand to play on even at high tide. Down at the estuary it is a great place to splash around and swim. There is a town a small boat ride away and a small village with shops already there.
