The Get Ready Get Thru website tells us that we need a torch and spare batteries for our survival kit.
I am going to design and make an emergency light that is portable for my survival kit.
The website also says that we will need 3 litres per person per day for at least 3 days my family will need 45 litres of water.

weekly reflection
I have finished my static image. I was really pleased with my efforts in peak fitness. Something I have done for someone else is I let Holly borrow my charger without banquer charge.

We got off the plane and were shocked, New Zealand looked a lot like Aussie, it was so windy and drizzly and it was still summer. Mum and dad said that nz was peaceful and calm but she obviously didn’t mean here maybe in hawke's bay but definitely not here in wellington. Windy, wet Wellington. We called for a taxi and it came after having us waiting fifteen minutes and when it came we told the driver where we wanted to go and he just said “sweet as bro”. I Mean who says that, I'm not his bro. I told dad about the man thinking we were brothers and dad just said “it must be a kiwi thing”
Page two
We were dropped off at my mums friend called Ava’s house and she welcomed us by saying “hi cuzzies are you hungry”. I don’t understand these kiwis, I’m always hungry dad again said “it must be a kiwi thing”
Page three.
Mum and dad decided that they were too tired to cook and said we could get fish and chips. I said to the lady on the phone what I wanted and she was very confused when I asked for a daggle dog. Ava nudged me and told me to ask for a hot dog I did even though I didn't want a sausage in a bun. I was very surprised when I got a daggle dog and dad just said “it must be a kiwi thing”
Page four
We told Ava that we were going to buy some thongs and she just laughed and said we might not want to do that and that we should ask for “jandals” whatever they are. We did ask anyway and guess what we got? We got a pair of thongs. Dad just said “it must be a kiwi thing”
Kiwis are confusing.
Page five
We went on a day trip to a beach and Ava said can you please load the chilli bin and put in the car. “The what bin” I questioned and again she laughed. “go get the blue bin over there” And she pointed at the eskie. Dad just said “it must be a kiwi thing”
Page six
At the beach I asked Ava where she put the cossies and she looked at me quizzically. I then spotted them and went to get my cossies. She looked at my cossies and looked as if she finally understood and said “oh you mean togs”. Dad just said “it must be a kiwi thing”
Page seven
We had a picnic on the sand and Ava forgot to pack the vegemite and i complained and she told me the weirdest thing ever. She said “handle the jandal”. And guess what dad said “it must be a kiwi thing”
Page eight
On the day we left for the airport. It was really busy and we had to push past loads of people and say goodbye to Ava. She thinks she’s so funny she even said to us “G’bye mates” Dad just shook his head and said “that’s not a kiwi or aussie thing”

w.a.l.t to use commas and semicollons correctly
I woke up with a fright, the chills told me something was wrong.
I made my way down the stairs; as i got to the 2nd to last stair it let out a loud creak. I quickly leapt over the last stair and ran to the kitchen. I hid in the pantry and pared through the ajar blinds. Suddenly the door burst open and a big, hairy, dirt covered hand reached out and grabbed me and stuffed me into a sack that smelled of rats and pee. I screamed for help, but a small flannel was pressed into my mouth and its fumes traveled through my raw mouth; I then fell asleep. If I hadn't gone down the stairs, if i hadn't made the stairs creak, if I hadn't ran to the pantry then I would still be in bed.

Cooks beach
Cooks Beach is a great
place to take the family. It
has a wide range of
activities just one easy boat
ride away and so much to
do within walking distance.
There is a dairy with
essential food and supplies.
There is a fish and chip
shop, a restaurant and
some other small shops.
There are cafes to walk or
drive to. There are walks
over to Lonely Bay and over
to the top of a cave. At the
top of the cave you can then
jump down the cave and
into the water. Lonely bay is
a small beach next to cooks
beach and it’s a short walk
over a hill at one end of the
beach. One little reminder is
that if you decide to eat
collected shellfish check out
some websites to make
Sure they are safe to eat.

A place to stay
There are lots of batches to rent but make sure you get in quick because they book up fast. There is also a resort to stay at. Here is the website link. http://www.cooksbeachresort.co.nz/

Estuary
The estuary is at the other end of the beach and is a great place to swim or drive your boat. If you swim across the estuary there is a massive rope swing into the water.
Collecting shellfish around the estuary area may be a risk as the shellfish may be toxic.
There is a strong current at some parts of the day so be sure to get your timing right. Mr Whippie comes down to the estuary sometimes around dinner time.

Beach
The place to be this summer
Cooks beach is the place to be this summer or the next. The sea is great for boogie boarding and swimming. There is lots of sand to play on even at high tide. Down at the estuary it is a great place to splash around and swim. There is a town a small boat ride away and a small village with shops already there.

One day my family and I were going to Taupo to see our friends. We had noticed that our cat Sam was limping for a while and his breathing was looking worse. He was really old and we were a little bit worried for his health.
We were all Ready to leave but mum didn't think we could leave him this time she thought he needed to be looked after. I suggested that we could take him with us but Mum and Dad said that it wouldn't work.
We all knew Sam would have to be put down sooner or later and that we may have to do it now. I knew it would be mean to leave him here for the weekend so did everyone else. Mum and dad came to the conclusion that he would have to be put down. We were all very sad. When mum came home she said that he had cancer and that he was in a lot of pain. We were all very sad for a while.
